Research Funds for coal & steel (RFCS)

The Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS) supports research and innovation projects in coal and steel sectors, from production processes to application, and includes resource use, safety at work and environmental protection. It is a separate, complementary programme to the EU's research framework programmes.

LASTEICON

The main objective of LASTEICON is to investigate the behaviour of innovative I-beam-to-CHS-column connections made using Laser Cutting Technology. The advantages of this type of connection are numerous. The use of stiffeners and welding is dramatically reduced and the mechanical behaviour is expected to be substantially improved. Furthermore, the aesthetic of the joint considerably enhanced.
INSA Rennes-LGCGM is in charge of the in-plane behaviour under both monotonic and cyclic loading.

European Space Agency (ESA)

The European Space Agency (ESA) is Europe’s gateway to space. Its mission is to shape the development of Europe’s space capability and ensure that investment in space continues to deliver benefits to the citizens of Europe and the world.
ESA's programmes are designed to find out more about Earth, its immediate space environment, our Solar System and the Universe, as well as to develop satellite-based technologies and services, and to promote European industries.

Additive Manufacturing of Modulated Ridged Leaky-Wave Antennas for Space Applications

This project concerns the feasibility study and development of a new generation of antennas based on highly compact and low weight structures. The conception of such innovative structures is enabled by additive manufacturing (commonly known as 3D-printing techniques). This initiative profits from the powerful synergy created between a three-partner consortium: a top-notch research laboratory on antennas (IETR, France), the European Space Agency (ESTEC, The Netherlands), and a company expert on additive manufacturing (SWISSto12, Switzerland).
