Theatre-with-studies

The Theatre-with-Studies section was created in September 2001, in partnership with the National Theatre of Brittany (TNB).

Recruitment

Theatre-with-Studies registration takes place in semesters 1, 3, 5 and 7 with no special conditions required. Once registered, students must attend the workshops at INSA-Rennes,  take part in activities with the TNB and in theatrical performances during the year.

Course

 “Theatre workshop" activity is integrated into the Engineering course of studies; assessment is carried out over 150 hours of supervised study, spanning the whole of the academic year and is organised as follows:

• 1 theatre workshop led by an actor and a professional director
• 2 weekends of rehearsal at INSA-Rennes
• 5 teaching activities at the TNB.
• 3 weekends in the company of speakers from the TNB (actors, directors, technicians).
• Annual theatrical programming.

The  “sound and lighting” module aims at introducing engineering students to  technical trades related to the performing arts. Practical work involves the production of plays and participation in major events organised by INSA-Rennes.

One ECTS credit is attributed for this module.

A writing workshop also supplements this module.
