The SRC Engineer

SRC engineers are generalists with expertise in electronics, computer science and signal processing, as well as in transmission and communication techniques.
Their broad scientific knowledge, social skills and open attitude towards industry, as well as their aptitudes in management and teamwork allow these engineers to work in professions that are as much enthralling as varied.

Four broad topics

• Electronics
  Information theory, detection, estimation, radio communications, antennas, digital communications, coding, transmission with optical fibre, radar, sonar, advanced transmission techniques, multi-media, broadband, embedded and wireless networks, etc.
• Computer science
  Signal theory, analogue and digital signals, AD and DA conversions, modulations and demodulations, multiplexing, analogue and digital signal processing, signal processors, equalisation, spectrum spreading, etc.
• Signal processing
  Structure of computers, micro-controllers, assembler, operating systems, programming with C, object-oriented programming, C++, Java, simulation and CAD of systems, computing projects, etc.
• Communications and transmissions
  Low-frequency digital and analogue electronics, high-frequency and ultra-high frequency, nonlinear electronics, electronic systems, embedded electronics, integrated systems, ASIC, programmable systems, micro-electronic devices, MMIC, etc.

Supplementary training : It is possible to take The "Engineer in business”  thematic module with both options.

Employment

The multi-disciplinary science courses provide SRC engineers with an avenue to a  vast choice of professions in SMEs/SMIs, leading electronics firms and in the world of communications & information technology. They are to be found working in such company departments as  project studies, engineering & design, research & development, consultancy, and sales. They are sought after in fields such as embedded electronics, home automation, safety, aerospace, communications of all types, data-processing and communications networks.
