Engineer in Business

This option is available to 5th-year students in engineering. It is offered jointly to students of the INSA-Rennes, the ESC Rennes School of Businness and Audencia Nantes.

To produce future contractors

This module aims at meeting the needs of the market by preparing future contract-company managers to act decisively with such entrepreneurial qualities as openness, creativity, self-reliance, a sense of responsibility, a taste for action and an awareness of risks.
Through a global and transverse approach, the students are then able to handle the development of an economic activity by taking account of all the elements of a business plan.

Students are actors of their own training

The students are grouped into mixed teams (INSA/ESC), and given the task of putting together a dossier for a business start-up or product development. The courses, conferences and meetings with professionals also allow the students to address the main practical and legal aspects of business creation.

A dual objective

• To gather future professionals around the same technological project
• To exploit the problems of business creation as a teaching aid. A first experience with respect to future projects

A certificate of participation in the “Engineer in business” module is issued at the end of this optional course.
